2016 - Collection

Francesca Mazzotta in the representation of everyday life of the space of origin where he lives, recovers and reworks the preciousness of ancient embroideries and boldly aims to present culture by creating new masterpieces of our time.
As short  "frame"  takes us back to a small part of reality and takes as absolute truth the memory of a tradition.
A frame fixed image of a culture on a medium white, pure as the whitening of lime walls.
As an embroidered veil lies between the 'lived experience and the speech act of storytelling, childhood geography of a place that takes over if the characters a bit solemn and sacred perhaps a strip of land affection of memory ,.
Lace, lace and embroidery, textures become precious jewels, resembling miniature sculptures.
Small chest, the jewel is the result of passion and memory of when, the very young, the hours passed in the house of "mescia" to learn the secrets of an art typically female.
The carry-on jewel lace "point shirts" (a type of embroidery that comes from the "needle point" native of Burano and that had its peak in the nineteenth century favored by the fashion of the time), becomes a symbolic constant and led the search for a new style.
Raw materials and precious, lace is worked by the skilled hands of a few women who now gather on hot summer days, in the cool courtyards of the old town and it is not difficult to find while walking through the old town.
The golden frame of bronze determines a field, which borders, protects, revealing the vision of a hidden jewel in an ancient space reported to modernity.

HARMONY OF SHAPE AND SENSES
The collection “Traces” of designer Francesca Mazzotta, represents her vision between strong link with the elements in which she lives and the objects, between the vision of the woman, her magic and jewels. Simbolic traces that emerge along the soft lines of the reliefs that intersect with the net of the fields. Hills, sea to capture shapes and colours that reveal the soul. In her creations is the quintessence. Images of abstract compositions and anthropomorphic profiles. Today Francesca is convinced that shapes and materials should be reinterpreted in a contemporary key. The style of francesca mazzotta's jewels is obtained through the use of old techniques such as leccese papier mache, with apparently far apart materials reinterpreted and fused together. Authentic works of art to wear, characterized by a precise volume's research and a variety of shapes, colors, and surfaces. Materials' transparencies and cracks, together with twists, create an enchanting and dazzling play of light and shadow, and reflexes. Her creations are the results of a craftsmanship shaped by a skillful goldsmith technique combined with the use of natural materials (hand-made papers, cellulose fibers), creating the right chemistry with silver, bronze, freshwater pearls, and minerals. Ability in sculpture and attention for details are what define Francesca mazzotta's contemporary pieces.
IL DESIGN
The line is characterized by essential shapes, soft and without sharp corners.
The design inspiration comes from observation of the nature of its territory of origin: Puglia.
His research is not casual and nothing is superfluous.
The visual selection, mutation and adaptation, by the erosive action of water or wind modelling, exalts shape, material and volume.
